Gourmet Delicacies At Your Doorstep
How many times have you thrown out a jar of olives because they expired before you could use them all? Or substituted an ingredient in a recipe because you couldn’t find it in the store?
Cooking enthusiasts often find that home cooking their favorite gourmet meals gets too complicated because of the lack of ingredients, cost and future wastage issues.
So, what if someone (maybe you) offered a special gourmet subscription service where you get all your ingredients pre-measured and sent to you? It could be a box of the month, where every month, based on your preferences, you get a different cuisine to try. Maybe even recipe cards. And if regulations permit in the future, a good bottle of alcohol that compliments your gourmet dinner of the month.
Sounds pretty luxurious.
Green Chef does everyday meal kits in the USA. They send pre-measured and pre-packed ingredients along with the recipe and pictures of the dish. All you need to do is follow the instructions.
Something like this can be done in India too - for exotic cuisines. Exotic ingredients are difficult and expensive to source in India - by doing a meal box of exotic cuisines, it’ll be much easier for you to buy the ingredients at scale. The Gourmet Box, for example, offers high quality ingredients, food products, snack packages, etc. from across the world.
But we are talking about meal kits. Full ingredients with recipes. You could have:
Japanese Soba Noodles
Ethiopian Thalis
Vietnames Spring Rolls
Sourcing these ingredients may be difficult for an individual, but once you’ve achieved scale, it’ll be a lot easier for you.
What do you think?
Clout Kitchens - The Next Big Food Business
How does an SRK Special Biryani sound? A one-of-a-kind recipe for SRK fans available only in select restaurants?
That is what a clout kitchen model is all about - partnering influencers/celebrities with cloud kitchen chains and brands. The reason this works is because cloud kitchens can scale up and down much faster than traditional restaurants and are thus always looking for new distribution methods. In 2020, MrBeast Burgers opened in 300 virtual locations across the US in a single day.
Rebel Foods and other Cloud Kitchen startups have already built the back-end infrastructure and the other piece of the puzzle already exists in Bollywood and new-age influencers. We are a country obsessed with food and celebrities. A combination of the two is bound to be a hit.
Get a Celebrity or Influencer to partner in your new venture, get a cloud kitchen partner to handle the cooking, and then all you have to focus on is marketing.
What Celebrity Special meal do you want to eat?

“Everything is content”: Inside the daily grind of one of India’s biggest influencer families
For us, this was a disturbing read for two reasons.
Firstly, it showed us the grind you have to put yourself through everyday to grow to millions of followers on Social Media. Each week the family produces 75 Reels and 35 video posts for Instagram, and 35 Shorts and 20 full-length videos for YouTube.
Secondly, it highlights a trend on Indian Social Media - the family influencers. These are families who potray perfect lives and perfect children to gain massive followings. This can’t be healthy for anyone, right?
TID Hot Take: Family entertainment such as this has always been the realm of Bollywood and Balaji (B&B). However, we’re currently seeing the start of the disaggregation of this model as independant producers like the Singhs above but also companies like Pocket Aces and Kulfi Collective are using the power of the internet to target their content to niches that B&B cannot hit.
Why Carbon Offsets Are Worse Than You Think
I know, this is a video, not an article but it is fantastically researched.
We’ve spoken about Carbon Offsets on the Podcast many times before as a potential business opportunity. Basically, someone in a Western Country wants to offset the Carbon they emit so they buy into a Carbon Sequestration project somewhere else in the world. This is usually done by reforestation.
However, as the video highlights, 80-90% of Carbon Offset projects are completely ineffective for a variety of reasons. Nevertheless, mandatory Carbon Offsets will continue to be a growing market as the climate crisis worsens over the coming years.
There’s still space to build a TRUSTWORTHY brand in the carbon offset market. You could:
Make content rating all the carbon offset projects around the world.
Make a Carbon Offset project that’s entirely focused on project.

Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High
Difficult, important conversations usually become awkward, emotional and lead to fights because most of us don’t know how to properly approach these discussions. Crucial Conversations provides a brilliant framework on how to have these Crucial Conversations’.
We use this framework all the time especially the idea of finding “The Pool of Shared Meaning”.
People who are skilled at dialogue do their best to make it safe for everyone to add their meaning to the shared pool – even ideas that at first glance appear controversial, wrong, or at odds with their own beliefs.
The pool of shared meaning is essentially where a group’s collective knowledge goes. When the group has more accurate or relevant collective information, they can make a better decision. And when people don’t feel safe or comfortable adding their opinions to the pool of shared meaning, it means people are operating with different information, which of course will lead to differences of opinion and conflicts.
